brief biography - Matapelo Masilela

Mathapelo Masilela is currently rated as one of the fastest growing Musician in South Africa. This 24 year old has managed to perform in countries like Germany, Hungary and she has just returned from a three weeks tour in Finland (Europe),  

 

Her music is a thin line between Afro jazz and Afro pop, which is enjoyed by all generation (young and old). Her debut album Sthandwa sami sold over 15 000 units and is anticipated to multiply within this festive season.

 

It is because of her energetic stage mark that earned her a platform to some of the biggest Jazz festivals in South Africa i.e. (Moretele park, Witbank Jazz in the dam, Sisters in concert, Sithabiseng Jazz in the lake) and Despite the out-door events she also do lots of exclusive indoor shows with (Morula Casino,  Meropa Casino, Carausel and some of the government initiatives with City of Tshwane, Mopani district municipality in Limpopo, Kungwini local municipality, Madibeng district municipality Nokeng tsa Taemane etc).

 

Mathapelo perceives her album as the dawn of hope to many talented musicians in South Africa especially, Tshwane area.  This album currently enjoys airplay in all South African radio stations and currently topping the charts on National stations like Motsweding Fm, Thobela Fm, Kaya Fm, Ikwekwezi fm. The video of the song “Sthandwa sami and Antie” is also receiving circular air play.

 

She is currently being managed by Ringo Madlingozi’s management company PR Spix and has also performed along side her stable mate Ringo at the East Comes Alive Jazz in Birtchwood Hotel early this year.
